Christmas Day and beyond....

Christmas 2011 was a blast! We had some good down time the week leading up to Christmas and that was much needed. We did some crafts, baking and just hanging out. Our pre-Christmas crafts: Christmas Eve was our traditional Children's Christmas Eve Service at church at 5pm. Tyler and Scott had a little debut at the beginning of the service and got to wear their PJ's! They were children who walked around with Dr. Carney talking about what Christmas is all about before the Christmas story was actually acted out by other children in our church! After the service, we came home to get ready for Santa to arrive! The boys were so cute on the way home looking up in the sky to see if they could see Rudolph's red nose glowing. Once we got home they were so excited to get Santa's cookies out and the reindeer food in the driveway. Once they finally settled down to go to bed, Tyler had a hard time going to sleep. Then, when he finally did go to sleep, he came to our bed around 3am and NEVER went back to sleep!!! He was just so excited and I think a little nervous about the idea of Santa being in our house! :) Santa came!! Wow, a basketball goal!!!! From Robbie and I they got these things: His very own big boy bookbag since he will be starting school this fall and he loves to feel big like his brothers! A Cam Newton signed jersey!!!! A cool art desk! At the service on Christmas Day, Tyler was asked to be apart of a song sung by various children and an adult soloist. It was absolutely beautiful!! That afternoon we headed to Robbie's mom's house for Christmas with his family. Yummy food and more presents were had by all! :) The day after Christmas is when Andy(my brother), Tiffany, Anna and Caroline arrived from Texas! So, we had Christmas with my family then plus an entire week of nonstop fun!! Passing out and opening presents!! On the 27th, we had Christmas with my mom's side of the family. We started a tradition a few years ago of going out to eat and then to someone's house for a fun gift exchange. It's always a lot of fun!! While Andy and his family were here, endless amounts of fun were spent at the State Museum, fishing in the pond in Mimi and Pop's backyard, going to the zoo, bowling, eating oysters that Pop cooked (well some people anyway), taking a trip to Yumilicious, riding the carosel at the mall and many, many other fun activities! My 2 sweet nieces....Anna (5) and Caroline (almost 2) Robbie got a fire pit from my parents for Christmas. Here are some pictures from our first time using it! We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. I had some other good pictures on my phone that I was going to put on here, but Greyson got ahold of it the other day and learned out to delete pictures! So, I lost some favorites!! Oh well....I'm sad but what can you do?!?? The first part of January brought about some crazy challenges with Greyson going to bed at night and taking naps. We battled and battled and battled this but we are finally back to a normal bed time with him. We thought he was ready to maybe give up his naps but thankfully not yet! We have started calling it rest time instead of nap time and he falls asleep when he is ready. For the past 2 weeks, his naps have taken place on the landing of the stairs. It is so cute! I initially start him out in his room, but he slowly makes his way down and ends up falling asleep on the landing. Here is one of him just today. He was wearing a golfers hat. :) Some more random pictures and a video: Greyson learned to sing Jesus Loves Me along with me months ago, but this was the first time I actually got it on video! It is so precious and warms my heart when we sing it together while rocking before bed.

My awesome running girls and their kiddos came over the other night for dinner and play time! All of our husbands had something going on so, we decided to have some girl time (with the kids!)! It was fun!

The boys had their 2nd basketball games last week and Scott received the Player of the Game award!! He really tried hard this game and made several rebounds. The first game he hardly touched the ball so, it was good to see that his confidence level had risen! He is really taking to basketball. Yesterday he played off and on at Mimi and Pop's house until he made it in the goal 100 times! :)

Another huge accomplishment lately is Greyson riding a big boy bike! That child truly amazes me with his determined, never give up spirit! It is quite challenging at times, but other times it is very beneficial! He has been saying he wanted a big boy bike so, Robbie put the training wheels back on the first bike Tyler and Scott had. It took Greyson only a few times of trying to pedal before he had it down pat! He is so proud of himself and feels like a big boy. This Mama is sad because he is growing up so fast! But, I'm happy for him, too! :)

Christmas Activities:

We've had lots of fun Christmas activities going on from making a gingerbread house, to Tyler's church choir program (Scott was sick and couldn't participate), Scott's Author's Showcase at school, class Christmas parties at school, and lights at Saluda Shoals!

Scott played the Old Man in their class Author's Showcase of the Gingerbread Story. He also read his gingerbread book to the whole class for the parents to guess if they were holding his gingerbread based on his book's description of what it looked like. It was cute!

Basketball!!

Tyler and Scott are playing basketball for the first time, and they are having a blast! This is the first sport that have been able to do at the same time so that is kind of neat! This is also the first sport that Tyler has truly been excited about. Scott was excited about baseball last year, but he is also really enjoying basketball. Tyler gets to play on the same team as 4 of his buddies...2 from his previous school and 2 from his new school! Scott is playing on the same team as the brothers of 2 of Tyler's friends. Scott was technically not quite old enough to play, but since he only missed the cut off by a month, the director was willing and thought Scott could be successful.

They had their first games this week. Tyler and his friend, Grayson, came up with a "plan" at school that day for a play they were going to execute. So, early on in the game they did it and it worked! Tyler scored a basket!!!!!!!!!! Boy, was he proud!! :) I actually caught it all on video on my phone, which made it ever better!! That night after the game, Tyler received the first "Player of the Game" award! What a way to start off a season!

Scott enjoyed his first game and really hustled. He was too cute tearing down the court with all that was in him! He was serious about playing defense can kept those arms in the air to block his opponent. :)

Catch Up!

It's December...one of the most fun times in the Hardy house! Buddy, our Elf, has returned for some fun surprises, the tree is up and decorated, the stockings are hung, Christmas pictures are being colored, Christmas music is playing, the wish lists have been made (they actually started working on those in November :)), etc! It is a fun time of year, but also a very hectic time of year. There is so much going on between school activities, church parties and festivities, shopping to be done, goodies to be made, etc, etc. I really do not want this month to fly by!!

Now that I've covered the beginnings of festivities for December, let's back track to October and November! :)
The end of October brought about Halloween, but also my 33rd birthday and my first ever Half Marathon! I trained for 12 weeks with some of the most amazing girls I've ever known. The four of us worked so hard together providing strength, encouragement, laughter, memories and new achievements all at the same time. I could not ask for a better group of ladies to run with 3-4 mornings a week. They have been such an amazing blessing to me! The four of us meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning at 5:30 am to run. While we were training for our half, we would meet on Saturday mornings for our "long" runs. Our Half Marathon was in Greenville on October 29. We traveled there on Friday for our race on Saturday morning. It was a super tough course since the elevation levels are much different there than they are here in Columbia. But, we did it and were so relieved! :)

Halloween was a lot of fun with my Tiger, Gamecock football player, and Bob the Builder. We went to a fall festival at Lexington Baptist on Saturday the 29th and on the 31st we went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. The boys had a blast and got lots of candy!!

In November we celebrated Robbie completing his Masters! He did a great job juggling a full time job, coaching and having a family! He even made it on the Dean's List every semester!!

Thanksgiving was fun with lots of eating and being with family. We went to Robbie's sister's for lunch and my aunt's for supper. It was a great day!

Last weekend we traveled to our first Clemson game of the season! We had a blast despite the 14 hour day! :) Robbie and Scott, my Gamecocks, were troopers! Tyler is my only true Tiger boy! Grey Grey is confused on who to like although Robbie and Scott have worked super hard and I think he is swayed towards being a Gamecock! Here are some pictures from our day in Tiger Town!

Also, last week I went on a field trip with Scott's K5 class to the fair! We went to look at all the farm animals since they were studying that!

We've had a great week at the Hardy house! Scott turned 6 years old on Monday, Oct 10 and boy was he ever excited! We started off with an October birthday celebration at Memaw's house on Sunday. We celebrated Scott, Robin, Katie and my birthdays since we were all born in October! It was a fun time together with both my family and Robbie's. On Monday, the boys did not have school so it was a perfect day for a birthday! Per Scott's request, we went to Learning Express for him to spend some birthday money and then to Sonic for lunch! That night we went to Miyabi's for some Japanese fun! On Tuesday, Scott's teacher gave him a birthday crown and cape to wear. I took some mini cupcakes and Cheez It's to his class to celebrate! Then, we finally ended the birthday celebration with a Race Car party yesterday! It was so much fun! Here are some pictures from our big birthday week!

We played a really fun race car relay game. Tyler, Scott and I painted boxes to look race cars. Each team had a car and raced around some flags that the adults were holding. They did a great job!

I sent the boys on a race car clue hunt which eventually led them to the cake!

In other news.....Greyson learned to climb out of his crib on Wednesday! Before I put him down for nap, he wanted his stuffed Curious George, but we couldn't find it. He was ok with that so, I put him down for his nap in his crib. The next thing I know, I hear his door close and he standing outside his room holding George! He had climbed out of his crib to look for George! I didn't want to make a huge deal about it since he was just more concerned with finding George, but we talked about not climbing out of the crib because he could get hurt. He ended up taking a nap in his crib and all was well until about 2am the next morning. He called out to me because he had to go to the bathroom. I took him and when I went to put him back in his crib he pitched a fit. Well, I let him cry for awhile and then all of a sudden he stops and I hear his door close. Then, I see him appear at our door. Robbie is awake by this point. I talk firmly to him about climbing out of his crib and put him back. He does it a 2nd time. So, Robbie stands outside his door waiting for him to do it again. As soon as he starts, Robbie races in there and grabs him. Robbie ended up sleeping in the twin bed in G's room so he would go back to sleep. On Wednesday, Greyson and I had a talk about whether he wanted to continue sleeping in his crib or if he wanted to sleep in the big bed. He chose the big bed and has been there ever since! The amazing thing is he has done so, so well!! I've been so proud of him! He has yet to get out of his bed without calling for me first! Whew! What a relief that we are through that milestone!

Another big thing that happened this weekend is that Scott is reading!!! This past summer he was reading several simple words but he read 2 books this weekend! We are so proud of him and you can see how excited he is. His class has a reading log where they color in squares based on the number of books read to them. He has been so motivated by this and I love to watch his hunger for learning. He is really thriving in Kindergarten!

I forgot to mention in my last post that Tyler was chosen to be on the yearbook staff at his school. His teacher asked him to apply and then he had to be selected. This is right up his creative alley and I think he will enjoy it.

Too Long!

I feel like I start every blog post talking about how long it has been since my last post! Ugh! I try to do better every time, but it just doesn't happen. It is so hard to find the time to upload the pictures, write and publish a post! Before I know it I'm 2 months behind. But, I want to keep my blog going so I can look back one day on all that was going on in our lives at that time.

Tyler and Scott are doing great in school! They had a good start in August to their brand new school and they both have super teachers! The week school started we were able to visit the school several times, especially Scott. I really think this helped ease the transition. On Sunday, August 14, the school was opened for families to come take a tour and see where their classrooms were. Scott had another chance to go in order to take more time in his classroom and talk to his teachers. By Wednesday, the boys were excited and ready to go! I held up well dropping my little red head off in Kindergarten, but it was still hard. He did great and didn't turn back! I was so proud of him!! Here are some first day of school pictures:

This was taken on the Monday before school started and I have to laugh at Scott's face!! He absolutely loves Mrs. Catone, his precious teacher, but he was not excited about having a picture taken with her after only knowing her for a brief time! :) Oh that red head!

Robbie then had his first day at Irmo on Thursday, August 19. Here is his first day of school picture! :)

One morning on that first week of school, Greyson and I went to story time at the library and he made an apple painting. We actually then signed up to do story time every Tuesday for the month of September. It was a great activity for the 2 of us to do together each week, especially since he is not in preschool.

August 19 was Robbie's first game as an Irmo coach! They played at Dutch Fork and we went for the first half. Greyson was really into it all this year! Scott was interested in how the game of football works so I would explain downs, yards, etc as best I could! :) Tyler was not as interested as the other 2, but football just isn't his thing! :)

On Friday, September 2, Greyson and I went to the zoo with some friends and had a great time! Two of my running partners plus another new friend all have 2 year olds so, it was fun!

For the first Clemson game, we went to Katie and Mark's to keep Baby Austin! The boys were great with him and it was fun for me to get to snuggle him for a whole day!

Our good friends, the Kingerys, just moved to Lexington so a lot of our weekends are spent hanging out with them! They have 2 boys....8 and 4 so it is one big boy fest when we get together, but they have a blast together! One time in particular even the "big" boys got involved in a game of flag football. It was quite amusing!

On Friday, September 9 we were able to be a part of a huge honor given to my Grandaddy. A high school stadium in Sumter named their stadium after him! We were so humbled for him and wished he could have been there to be a part of it. He was such an advocate for education and athletics and this honor is so deserving. Below is a picture of the plaque that was given to my mom and Donna. I am so thankful my boys could share in this night! I was able to tell them just what an amazing man Grandaddy was!

On Friday, September 16, Tyler and Scott's school honored grandparents with Grits for Grandparents. Robbie's mom (Memaw) and my mom (Mimi) were able to go to breakfast with the boys in their school cafeteria. They all loved this fun memory!

I am a part of the very first PTO at the boys' new school. I am over Staff Appreciation as well as a Fitness Challenge we will do in the Spring. I have loved being a part of the school in this way and have enjoyed getting to know so many new people!! I am also co-homeroom mom for each of the boys classes....another thing I love! :) Each month, we have a day for Staff Appreciation where we provide a lunch or just special treats for all of the teachers. Our first one was a Tailgating Theme and of course I had to take pictures so I can remember things for next year! :) We incorporated both teams....Clemson and USC!

When Tyler was 2 years old, he loved a life size Curious George! He slept with it and pretty much had it with him all the time! Well, just recently Greyson started getting attached to George. It brought back so many sweet memories of Tyler at this age. Below are some pictures of Greyson reading to George. It was so cute in person and he was actually telling George the stories! :)

Last week at school, Scott was the very first Star Student of the week for his class. His class interviewed him, he got to take in his favorite book or toy and over the weekend he was able to take home the class owl, Glen. He was so, so proud!! Scott has adjusted so well to Kindergarten and it has been neat to see how much he has already grown. I had a conference with his teacher yesterday and she had nothing but great things to say about him. He always listens and does what he is supposed to be doing, and he is right on track with what he should know at this point in K5. During the 2nd week of school, Scott was the first one in his class to earn a "behavior buck" and then the first one to get to go into the treasure box for receiving 5 behavior bucks. He was on cloud 9!!! :) I am so very thankful that he is doing well and has such an amazing teacher!!

Last weekend, we took a trip up to Skye Top Orchard to pick apples! This was our first time ever doing something like this but I have a feeling it might become a tradition! The boys had a blast! It was the perfect fall day for picking apples and quite cold at times. Our most favorite part was the yummy apple cinnamon donuts that we waited 40 minutes in line to get....well worth it for sure! Robbie was given a ticket to the USC/Auburn game so he wasn't able to go, but my parents and Katie went with us.

So, those are just some happenings for us over the last 2 months! I gave an update on Scott with school, but here is a little update on Tyler and Greyson. Oh yea, stay tuned for a blog update after next weekend. Scott's birthday is Monday and his party is next Saturday so, I have to update it with all of those fun festivities! :)

Tyler is doing great in 3rd grade. He is in the Eagles (gifted and talented) program and seems to really enjoy it. He has made some new buddies which was one thing I was worried about since all of his other friends were staying at his old school. He has a great teacher whom he already recognized from his other school. His teacher conference went well the other day and she had only nice things to say about Tyler. It was so funny because Tyler's and Scott's teachers both told me the same exact thing...."He is so quiet but he does raise his hand to answer questions in class." You know, they get this quiet thing honestly....take a look at their father, their grandfather and actually (believe it or not) what I was like some as a child. :) Tyler was excited 2 weeks ago when he won for having the most box tops collected for the whole 3rd grade! He received a $10 gift card to Learning Express for winning....Yipee!! We are so proud of Tyler!!

Greyson is doing well and loving the one on one attention he gets from me (or Mimi) everyday. He is so great one on one and we have the best outings. It's when his brothers come home that Greyson's demeanor can sometimes change. Greyson is a super sweet, loving child, but boy does he have a major stubborn streak to him. WOW! When he gets his mind set on a toy he wants or something he wants to do, there is no turning back. Today for example, Greyson had to go to time out FIVE times as well as receive 2 pops on the leg for his behavior (his brothers had the day off from school but he also did not get as much sleep last night as he's used to). It is so funny (yet very frustrating as a parent) to see him go from a sweet boy to a "not going to listen to what you say" boy. I love my Grey Grey, though and he will always be known as "The Grey"! :) He is smart as a whip and does not miss a trick! He knows exactly what you are talking about and talks up a storm. He talks way more than Tyler or Scott ever did at this age, but I guess that comes with the territory. He loves to help us put the boys to bed at night. He refuses to go to bed first and has his little routine of hugging and kissing each one and then saying something to make them laugh as we walk downstairs. He keeps life fun and never dull!!! Some of his current Greysonism include: "I not did" and "I want to sleep on the trungle" (which is the trundle bed under Tyler's bed). Oh that boy!!!

A big month!!!

July was a big month for us. It started off great with Robbie and Tyler heading to Camp McCall for LAD camp (father/son camp). They had a blast with guys from our church as well as many from various other churches around the state. They came back with some fun stories and great memories!!

While they were gone, we welcomed my precious little nephew, Austin! He was born Friday, July 8 and healthy as can be. I was so happy that Scott, Greyson and I could be there! Here are some fun pictures from the waiting room!

Back at the end of June, we made a very, very tough decision. We had taken in a stray dog that we lovingly gave a home to for 5 weeks. But, within that 5 weeks, we realized that it was just too tough to try and have an indoor dog (we do not have a fenced in back yard) with 3 young children. It became stressful with the potty training of a puppy and having to be on top of her all the time to make sure she wasn't chewing up something, using the bathroom somewhere, etc. Tyler was truly heartbroken because he is such a dog lover. But, he understood, too. Thankfully we found a wonderful girl who has been able to give Abby a great home! This girl has allowed us to keep in touch with how Abby is doing. Here is a reuniting we had at a local park:

Greyson is absolutely the cutest thing right now! He is talking up a storm and saying the most adorable things. He loves to sing the Bob the Builder song and it is hilarious! He is really into putting on everyone's shoes. It is not uncommon to find him walking around the house or outside in a different pair of shoes. He loves to put on these blue snow boots, and one day I found him in these boots with only his Pull Up on. His doggy was of course with him and his thumb in the mouth. He ventured out to the back yard while I was watering the flowers so I got some cute pictures. That boy can be so sweet and snuggly, but man can he be stubborn!!!!!! Wow!!!!! :)

Right before Robbie and Tyler went off to camp, Robbie found out about a Business Ed teaching position that had just opened up at Irmo High School. So, he submitted his resume, got called in for an interview on Tuesday, July 11, and was offered the position on Wed morning, July 12! We were so excited! But, then came the very challenging part. The district he was employed with was being extremely difficult about letting him out of his contract. It is typically not uncommon or challenging to get out of teaching contracts, but for some reason they were being stubborn about it. Our family and friends kept saying it was probably because they didn't want to lose him, but that didn't help! :) God was so faithful through this week long process of making sure Irmo would wait for his release and for the district to let him go. We had friends and family praying and in the end he is now at Irmo!!! He will be an assistant Varsity football and baseball coach as well. Not to mention that he will be 14 minutes from home instead of 35!!! Woohoo! He is so happy to finally be closer to home again and we are, too!! It will be fun to be at my Alma Mater watching games once again!

We headed to the beach with my whole family at the end of July! It was so much fun and what we look forward to every year!!! Andy and his family flew in from Texas and Katie and Mark came with 2 week old Austin. The cousins had so much fun together and there was never a dull moment. This year we went to Seabrook Island and it was perfect! That might be my new favorite destination!! Here are some pictures from the week!

More Summer Fun!

Wow, is it really July!!?? Our summer is going well, and we are having fun! Some days we have things planned and other days we plan the day as we go! That's what I LOVE about summer! Lately, we've been to EdVenture and the State Museum, created a lemonade stand in the driveway, celebrated the wedding weekend of one of Robbie's childhood best friends, and picked blueberries. We've also been swimming and spent some fun times with friends and family. Last night we went to the Blowfish game and the boys and my good friend Rebecca's children were asked to ride in a train around the field after the 1st inning!! They had a BLAST!!! One more BIG piece of news....Greyson is potty trained!!! Whoohoo!!!!!!!! We started with him on Saturday the 18th and he has done a fabulous job!! We are so, so proud of him!

June has been jam packed so far, but we are looking forward to a slow week this coming week. The first full week of summer was spent doing lots of swimming, a day trip to Sullivan's Island and fun at Pine Island with friends. This past week was VBS with a little swimming in the afternoons. But, the end to this past week was not fun. Tyler ended up with pink eye and Robbie ended up with pink eye and strep throat! No fun! So, this weekend has been low key and just what we needed! I know some of you (mainly family) have been on me to update the blog!! :) A lot has happened so I'll do my best to update through the pictures! Let's see, since Easter, I ran in a 5 mile race with my 2 awesome running partners, Greyson turned 2, we became the new owners of a dog, Scott graduated from preschool, Tyler finished 2nd grade and he jumped off the high dive! We are very excited that summer is here, our schedule slows down, and we have lots of family time and fun things planned! Here are some pictures from the last month and a half.

The boys meeting Abby for the first time! We told the boys we were keeping her for the weekend for someone Robbie works with. But, it was actually a trial run to see how Tyler's allergies would do with a dog. After 4 days, he did amazingly well so we told the boys she was ours! They were so excited....well, Tyler was! His comment was, "We get to keep her forever?!?!" It was so cute! Scott was a little reserved because it was taking him some time to get used to her. She is a puppy and likes to bite and eat everything!

Our sweet, full of life, 3rd little boy Greyson turned 2 on May 7! It was truly hard for me to believe it. His little life has flown by so much faster than Tyler's and Scott's. He honestly turned from baby to big boy in no time. He is talking up a storm and makes us laugh quite often. He learns things so quickly and can use the Ipad all by himself with no problem! He is fearless and very independent. He wants to do things all on his own and thinks he is as big as his brothers. He is too funny with Abby. He tells her all the time..."No bite Abby" and "Abby Get Down". It makes me laugh! He lets her lick his hands, bite his fingers, and wrestle him! One day I found him sitting on her back while she ate her supper! We celebrated his birthday with a Farm party in Mimi and Pop's backyard.

Scott's preschool had a sweet graduation performance at the end of the year. Scott was a part of the 5 Green and Speckled Frogs. He did a great job!
This chapter of his life is over and it is very bittersweet. I can't believe it is time for him to go to Kindergarten! I know what to expect more this time around since we have been through it with Tyler, but it doesn't make it easy to see my little red growing up!

We went to the pool for the first time of the summer last Sunday and Tyler got the nerve to jump off the high dive!!! I couldn't believe it!!

Scott's fun t-ball team at their end of the year party. He was on a wonderful team with some great boys and families! He had a blast and his love of baseball grew even more!!

Tyler and Scott are being rezoned to a new school in August. It is very bittersweet for us because Tyler has gained some of the most amazing friends at Midway who will not be going to the new school. I am so sad for him in this respect although I know we will keep in touch with them as well as gain new friends at Meadow Glen. These 2 boys have been such great friends for Tyler this year and over the last 2 years!

Scott joined us at Tyler's end of the year party. He has enjoyed Tyler's friends, too!

A little fun on the last day

Robbie is helping coach The Blowfish team again this summer. We went to the game Saturday night and last night! This will probably be one of the highlights of our summer!! :)

Tyler is playing in some golf tournaments this summer and he had his first one on Monday! He was a little unsure at first, but ended up having a great time!

We all went with Tyler to his first one, but I'm pretty sure that won't be happening again! 2 year olds and golf courses just don't mix! :) Greyson can't stop talking long enough to be out there! :)

The boys were so excited to make smoothies the other day....of course, Scott (my picky eater) did not like it! :)

Summer has just begun and we have a lot of fun things to do so, I will try to keep the blog updated more often! :)

Spring Break and Easter

Last week the boys were on Spring Break! We had a fun week!! We played outside, went to Charleston for the day with Mimi, had a playdate with friends, picked strawberries, and just enjoyed our break! Easter was great, too! Here are some pictures from our week:

And this is how Robbie and Pop spent part of the afternoon! :)

On Monday night we went to Robbie's last game of the season. They played Dutch Fork. The DF coach is a friend of Robbie's and we go to church with him. DF beat RV earlier in the season, but this night, Robbie's team had it going on!! They won 11-6!! Robbie has dealt with lots of issues this season and has had to lay the law down several times with some of his players. He has been so discouraged at times, but knew that he had to do what was right to help these kids learn. It all paid off in the end and God blessed them with a W for the last game!! The boys, my parents and I were there for the whole game. Tyler, Scott and Greyson had a blast! They spent the majority of the night in the dugout. Greyson enjoyed filling up paper cups with water in the dugout and tried to sneak out on the field a few times! :) At the end of the game (9pm), Tyler begged and begged to ride home on the bus with the team. I really debated it because it was a school night, but in the end allowed he and Scott to do it! It was a memory I hope they have forever and it was one night! They did not get home and in the bed until 11pm, but they had a blast! This was a great time with their daddy for sure! I let them sleep in a little on Tuesday and took them to school late! Shhhh, don't tell!! :) Hopefully, I can remind them of this night of being a "cool" mom, when one day they will not think I'm so cool! :) Haha!

When we got home from Lancaster on Sunday, there was a message from Tyler's art teacher at school letting us know that a piece of his art work had been chosen to be displayed at The Lexington Town Hall this week!!!! We were so excited for him! Art/drawing is a HUGE passion of Tyler's and we think he is pretty good at it! :) We went up there today to check it out!

The Town Hall is located directly in front of our favorite park...Virgina Hylton. So, we went for a little walk along the path after seeing Tyler's art work.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and is enjoying the wonderful weather we have had!!

Cousin Time

Andy and Anna flew in Thursday night and left this afternoon. It has been a fun filled 3 days with them and we are thankful for the short amount of time we had with them! The boys could not have been more excited to be with Anna! Greyson must have said her name 400 times! He would call for her, she would come and he would stare and grin at her. It was so cute. Tyler and Scott were 100% Anna all weekend. They always pick right back up where they left off and enjoy every waking moment together. They had fun playing baseball, having 2 sleepovers, helping Pop skin the turkey he shot (ha!!), playing in the tent, watching a movie, making hats with turkey feathers, eating ice cream, etc. We missed Tiffany and Caroline, but look forward to seeing them this summer! Amazing Ladies

Aren't these 2 ladies just beautiful?! I miss them so, so much and think about them A LOT!! It's not uncommon for me to be think of them many times throughout my week. Most of the time it's while driving in the car, and I get teary eyed just thinking about what amazing grandmothers they both were and how much I miss them. I also think about how much fun they are having together in heaven!! I love them and can't wait to see them again one day! So, I just wanted to share! :)

Our sweet, first born Tyler turned 8 years old this past Thursday! We have celebrated just about everyday since Thursday and have had a blast. Birthdays have always been a big deal in my family so, I love to go all out and celebrate them to a "T"! On Wednesday night, Tyler was so excited about it being his birthday the next day that he was not able to fall asleep until almost 10:00. He woke up Thurs morning to our traditional pancake breakfast and the kitchen decorated with streamers. Aunt Robin (Robbie's sister) came over at 7 to join us for breakfast! It was a fun treat for sure! During Tyler's lunch at school Mimi, Scott, Greyson and I took Chick-fil-A to him and cupcakes for his class. Robbie scooted out of school a little early and got Tyler out about 30 minutes early...it was a surprise! Then, we went bike shopping...that is what we gave him for his birthday but wanted him to help us pick it out. Then we went to the mall to Build A Bear. He chose Olive Garden as his dinner of choice and we ended with a yummy cookie cake! Here are some pictures from that day before I go into his party day! :)

On Saturday, we had a Camping theme party for Tyler. It was full of a scavenger hunt, roasting hot dogs, a bug/snake hunt, pinata, relay race, and cake! Due to the rain that started, we were not able to roast marshmallows. It was a super fun party! Saturday night Tyler had 3 of his buddies spend the night. They had a blast and we all survived! They were asleep by 9:30 and up in full swing by 5:30AM!!!

We are so proud of the boy/young man Tyler is becoming. He is a very good student and does his very best. He still has a big passion for art and drawing and has also become quite a good golfer. Well, my dad reminded me today that I have not updated our blog in a month! It's been on my mental to do list all week, but just hasn't happened until today! The boys are doing well and in full swing with baseball, golf, school, etc. We started off March celebrating Robbie's birthday. He turned the BIG 37!

Tyler participated in the RA Derby race at church on Robbie's birthday. His car won 2nd place for Best in Show (which means creativity and design)! He was so proud!

Tyler is taking some one on one golf lessons right now and then he will start back with some group clinics. He is doing really well at it (per his instructor)! :)

It is quite interesting keeping Greyson entertained and quiet during Tyler's golf lessons! He hasn't quite understood the memo that you have to be quiet on a golf course/driving range! :) Scott is pretty easy, though! :)

Tyler is turning 8 next week on the 24th! Greyson will be 2 in less than 2 months! Scott is staring K5 in just a few short months! Wow, these boys are just growing up too fast! I tell them all the time to stop growing up, but they just laugh and say no! :)

This week's weather has been fabulous so, we have really been taking advantage of being outside! Scott started T-ball practice this week and is going to be on a really great team! Robbie is really looking forward to helping coach his team as often as he can be there. The husband of a very good friend of mine is going to be the head coach! Greyson also got his very first hair cut last Friday at a neat place called Sharkeys. He did really well...I guess sitting in a cool car and eating a sucker helped! :) My baby is getting so big!

Boy update

Life is so fun with 3 boys! They are growing and changing all the time!! Here is a quick update on each of them.

Greyson: Oh, this boy is just so funny. He is talking up a storm, which amazes me because Tyler and Scott had just really started talking when they were this age. Greyson will be 21 months old on Feb 7. I truly can't believe he will be 2 in 3 short months...wasn't I just writing about him turning 1?!?!?! There are quite a few Greysonism right now:

1. Everyday, several times a day he goes through the routine of asking where is everyone. It goes something like this: "Where Mimi?", "Where Daddy?", Where Pop?", "Where Tyer (Tyler)?", "Where Cott?", "Where RaRa?", "Where Nana (Anna...my neice)?". It is so cute!

2. Greyson's absolute favorite thing to do right now is read books. At least 4-5 times a day he says, "Ahw Book Rock Rock" which translates "I want you to read books to me and rock rock in the chair". He actually just now said to me as I'm typing this....LOVE IT!! So, I'll be back later to finish my write up! :)

Ok, I'm back several hours later...it's Wed so we had church tonight! :)

3. Greyson thinks he is as big and bigger than Tyler and Scott. His most favorite moto and saying is, "No, I do it!" He can even say it with attitude!! He is such a mess. For example, he opens the refrigerator door and takes his milk out, unscrews the tops, and tries to pour it into his cup! Another example: He thought he could carry the full jug of milk to the checkout today in Publix. He got mad at me for helping him! He loves to say "I elp" (translates I help). It is precious and I love his servants heart at this age.

4. He loves to "dip" his food in things like ketchup, syrup, etc. He was always saying "du pa" which sounded like "juice box" to us. So, we thought he was wanting a juice box which is not something he has often and not when I make things like pancakes and he's saying "du pa". We finally figured out he was asking for something to "dip it".

Tyler: Oh, this child is after my own heart in so many ways! We first borns have to stick together! :) Tyler is doing really well in 2nd grade. He made the Honor Roll this past report card and received a little certificate for it! He got a new teacher after Christmas. He really likes her, thank goodness!! He is into reading chapter books right now, which amazes me! Tyler is and always has been very artistic. The boy loves to draw and doing anything of that nature. Last year he took art lessons after school with his school art teacher. He has just started back with that on Tuesday afternoons. He loves it, and she has loved having him back! She teaches a group of children and they do some really neat things. Tyler has decided not to do baseball this Spring but wants to take golf lessons again. I think this sport fits his personality VERY well! I can't believe he will be 8 in less than 2 months! He is a great big brother...a little bossy at times, but I guess that's kind of his role as the oldest sometimes, huh?!...hince like his mother. :)

Scott: Oh, my little buddy! Scott is at such an awesome age! We are really tight right now and I am loving that! It makes me so sad to think that he will be starting kindergarten in the fall. Just because I've already sent one child off to school does not make it any easier. People say, "Well, at least you still have Greyson at home." Well, yes, BUT that does not make it any easier for me to send my sweet Scottie off to school! You know?!? Scott would stay home everyday and never come out of his pajamas if I would let him! :) He is such a homebody. He likes preschool and I'm thankful, but if he had the ultimate choice right now, he would never go anywhere! :) He is such a good middle child....he adores his big brother and wants so badly to impress Tyler and be like him. He is so awesome with Greyson and adores him, too. I love to watch him interact with each of them separately. Scott is going to play T-ball this Spring and we are so excited that he is going to be on some good friend's of ours team! Robbie is looking forward to helping coach as much as he can with his team in full swing now.

Robbie's baseball season is in full swing! We had a dinner for all of the senior players and coaches the other night. I fixed the meal and we had it at Robbie's mom's house since she lives on the side of town where all the players live. It was a big success and I had so much fun preparing and serving the meal! I'm so proud of Robbie and the great coach that he is. He really cares about these boys and wants them to do their best. He expects a lot out of them, but in a good way! I think he is such an amazing influence on them!! Here is a picture from the other night:

Christmas and SNOW days!!

Christmas was so much with the boys! They were so excited even though Greyson really had no clue what was going on! :) Santa was up until about 1:00 putting together a hockey table, bike and 4 wheeler. Whew.....!! The boys woke up early and we gave them the choice as to whether they wanted to go see what Santa brought or read the Christmas story first. Tyler quickly chose to read the story first and I was so happy to hear that! So, we opened the Bible and read the story. We had been reading bits and pieces the whole month of December leading up to Christmas Day. We do a "Countdown to Christmas" chain and each day has a couple of verses on it to read. After that, Scott was ready to go see what Santa brought. But, Tyler was wanting to hang our ornament that we had gotten at our church's Christmas Eve service. So, he told Scott, "Scott, we are still in Jesus world not Santa world yet." It was precious and warmed a Mama's heart!!! So, the boys closed their eyes and I led them to the tree so they could put the ornament on. Then, we got to see what Santa brought. Greyson was still not awake at this time so, after the boys looked at what they got, they wanted to wake him. His face looked a little confused at first but, once we put him on his new 4 wheeler he was ready to go!

We had a HUGE snow here this week and had 4 days off of school!! The boys loved the snow, even Greyson! He was out there doing just what his big brother and Daddy were doing. It was a lot of fun having 4 days off from school (plus an already scheduled holiday tomorrow and Monday!).

December and some reflections on Mema

Our precious Mema went to be with the Lord on Dec 16...just 3 short weeks after Nanny. This has been the hardest month of our family's life and we miss those 2 ladies terribly. BUT, we rejoice that they are together in heaven and their bodies are well again!
Reflections about Mema:

-We have always referred to Mema as a saint because she truly was. She was an amazing Christian lady and she lived it out daily.

-She was the biggest prayer warrior I knew, and she was such an inspiration to me.

-She was my hero because she raised ALL (4) boys and did a great job!!!

-For 2 years, we had such an honor of being able to attend the same church with Mema and Papa. When we lived in Indian Land, I was the Children's Minister at their church and it was such a special time. Tyler was a baby through age 2 1/2 and she loved helping me with him and seeing him at church. Scott came along during that time until we moved here when he was 9 months old.

-Mema made the absolute best chocolate cakes and everyone knew it!! I remember as a child helping her make biscuits. She was a great cook and made the best corn in the world straight from their garden!

Here is a sweet, sweet picture of my 2 amazing gradmothers whom I miss more than ever! This was taken 5 years ago at Mema and Papa's 80th birthday party. Aren't they beautiful? :)

Despite our sadness, we have had some really fun times together as a family. Andy, Tiffany, Anna and Caroline have been here since the 17th and it has been nonstop fun! A couple of weeks ago we helped Memaw (Robbie's mom) decorate her Christmas tree. The boys also had their church choir performance a few Sundays ago. As many times as we have been to the zoo, we have never been inside the bird cage! Tiffany was sweet and bought Tyler a cup of nectar to take inside. He loved every minute of it! Scott and Anna weren't quite sure about it!

Where do I even begin? November was here and now almost gone in no time. It's been a very hard month for our family, but in the midst of our hard times, God has once again been faithful. He has brought us times of joy and laughter amist our sadness of losing a precious, precious lady in our lives. Our sweet Nanny went to be with Jesus last Monday, Nov 22. We are going to miss her terribly, but we have the hope of knowing that we will be with her again in heaven for eternity!

Over these last several weeks I have had lots of time to reflect on Nanny's life and the wonderful memories I have of her. I'm going to share just a few:

-She was a faithful, loving grandmother who was there for us as often as she could be. She and my grandaddy attended many of our choir programs, dance recitals, etc over the years. They even traveled to Disney World when my dance team performed there in high school. When I was 13, she and my grandaddy took me on an unforgettable trip to England and Scotland!!

-She was a believer and shared with us her love for God throughout her life.

-We loved going to her house as children and even into adulthood. She knew how to entertain and was very hospitable.

-She was there for the birth of all 3 of my children and that is super special to me. She held my babies, rocked them, bathed them and absolutely loved them! I feel so honored that they knew her and were able to spend time with her over the years. We will share with Greyson as he gets older about how special she was and how much she loved him.

-She allowed Robbie, Tyler and myself to live with her for 4 months when we moved up her way. Tyler was just a baby and it was such a special time for me. She thoroughly enjoyed the company and she was so gracious in allowing us to be there. I have so many great memories of that time.

-Over the last 10-12 years, Robbie has thought of Nanny as his own grandmother. She adored him and loved that he was an educator. Robbie has many fun memories of Nanny. He loved her homemade pimento cheese and loved having her make his lunches when we lived with her. She loved to fill his belly! :)

I miss you and love you, Nanny!!!

Our Thanksgiving was different this year, but we were together and that's what matters. We have a lot to be thankful for!!! This past weekend, we spent time decorating for Christmas! The boys have been super excited and loved helping with the decorating. Here are some recent pictures:

Just a quick recap of mid October through the end of October for us....

Robbie and I were able to enjoy a day to ourselves at Clemson a few weekends ago! Robin came and kept the boys for us! They had a blast with her! Here is how the morning began.....

I turned the big 3-2! Robbie and Tyler got up early and made pancakes! :)

On the 30th we went to a fall festival at the church where Scott goes to school. Here is an individual picture of Scooby Doo, Spiderman and a Cowboy/Farmer! We were going to do the whole theme thing and Scott was going to be Shaggy and Greyson was going to be Scrappy Doo, BUT that all changed when Greyson wanted nothing to do with his costume and Scott just really wanted to be Spiderman! :) Oh well, it was worth a try!

Our little buddy, Scott, turned 5 on Sunday!! It was a fun filled weekend of celebrating. He had a baseball party at the Irmo baseball field on Saturday followed by a little family celebration on Sunday. Then, on Tuesday his class celebrated with him at school. I can't believe my buddy is 5! It seems like yesterday that he was born 3 weeks and 5 days early weighing only 5lbs 15oz. He was a petite little thing! He has brought a lot of laughter to our family with his silly little antics. Here are some pictures from our fun weekend, plus some from his Western Day at school yesterday!

At 5, some of Scott's most favorite things to do are: play with cars and Super Heroes, play outside, play dogs with Tyler and play baseball. He is a Gamecock through and through, which makes his Mama sad but his Daddy proud! :) Scott is in school 3 mornings and week and this is the first year he has absolutely loved it! I'm savoring every bit of this preschool year because it is his last! :( I'm thankful Scott has the opportunity to go to preschool because he is able to experience some of the neatest things that he will never get to experience once he is in big school. I guess I appreciate it more and more since I already have a child in elementary school!

Tyler is playing Fall Baseball and Robbie is his coach!! He is having fun, especially since he has some good buddies on his team. Tyler also attended his first ever sleep over last Thursday night (no school on Friday). He had such a great time and actually stayed the whole night!! We were so proud of him! I can't forget my sweet and wild Grey Grey! He is quite a character at the ripe age of 17 months! There is NEVER a dull moment at our house when he is awake. I know I say it often but he truly thinks he is as big as Tyler and Scott. He thinks he can do everything that they do and he does not miss a thing! He's pretty smart, though and he amazes me with what he knows!

We are only about half way through September, but it's been a full month already. We went to Clemson Labor Day weekend for the First Friday parade. I was able to see 2 of my roommates whom I haven't seen in a long time and have never met their children. It was really fun seeing them! That night, we spent the night at Katie and Mark's house...the boys loved every minute of that! On Saturday, we went to Hendersonville spur of the moment to the Apple Festival. Last week Scott had his tonsils and adnoids out, as most of you know. He has been such a trooper and it has gone really well thus far. It is a 2 week recovery time...so only soft foods and no school until then. Here are some pictures from our month so far:

Big preschooler

Scott had his first day of 4 year old preschool this morning!! Or as I have been saying...his last first day! It makes me teary to think he is in his last year of preschool, but it's going to be a great year and so much fun! Scott had a great morning and was a big boy going in to school. His reactions to school were much different this year than last year! Last year he was not the least bit excited and he wouldn't let me take any pictures of him! But, what a difference a year makes...

I have a story as to why I think today was a good start! Here goes...I know that most of you moms who are reading this can think of times in your children's lives where you have done anything you can to make things better for your child. Well, that's what I did with Scott and this transition back to preschool after the summer. Yesterday when we were leaving to go to "Meet the Teacher", he was not the least bit interested and pretty much pitched a fit about going. He ended up being fine, especially since the parents stayed and it was only 30 minutes. Afterwards I realized that he really did need a new bookbag...he was still carrying Tyler's from when he was 2! So, we head to Target with my mom and Greyson to look for one. Of course, the first one Scott spots that he wants is Batman! I try everything I can to talk him out of the Batman one (because I just don't like the character ones) and to look at some solid colored ones that were cute. He refused. And continued to refuse and say he didn't like them. So, my mom finally whispers to me, "You know if it will make the transition easier for school tomorrow, it may be worth it." She was so right!! So, right then and there I realized that it just didn't matter. Scott doesn't have to have the cutesy bookbag with his name embroidered, etc, etc like almost every other child at preschool. He could care less about that and it would be more for me than him. So, I put those comparisons and worries aside and made my child's day!!! I grabbed the bookbag and before I gave it to him I told him, "Scott we will get you this bookbag but I want to see a happy face tomorrow when you go to preschool." He said ok and his face lit up!!!!!!!! It was priceless and made me feel so good that I did that for him. He was in the best mood all day long yesterday and so extremely proud of his bookbag. He counted the pockets, hung it up at home, took it in the carpool line with us so he could show Tyler right away, hid it so he could pull it out and surprise Robbie when he got home, and then hung it where Tyler hangs his. He was more proud of that thing yesterday than over anything else I've ever seen with him!! Thank you Lord for helping me put aside the "popular" thing that I wanted for my child and get something that made my child so happy as well as made him feel so proud walking into preschool this morning!!! Surely I'm not the only mom who has never wanted to buy their child a character bookbag because YOU didn't like the way it looked!! :)

Greyson is going to miss his big brother on Monday, Tuesday and Wed mornings!! The first thing he said when we got in the car after dropping Scott off was "COTT"! That's what he calls Scott! :) He loves his big brother Cott!! I guess he will just have to get used to hanging out with me.

First Day of School

Tyler started 2nd grade today!! He has been really excited about starting, but when we dropped him a few tears started flowing. He said he was nervous. Bless his heart!! He is an anxious child and gets nervous easily, but this was the first year he cried so it kind of threw me for a loop! But, his teacher was very sweet, and I feel sure as soon as we left he was ok.

On another note, I love the mind of my 4 year old, Scott! His thoughts never cease to amaze me and usually make me laugh. We truly never know what is going on in his little head. 99% of the time his questions and comments come totally out of the blue! A few of his questions or comments lately:
"Mama, are their roads in Africa?"
"Mama, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"My eyes are exhausted."

Greyson is keeping life fun and busy! He is such a busy body and quite funny. He turned 15 months old on Aug 7! He thinks he is as big as Tyler and Scott and picks up on their every move.

July has flown by!! I can't believe that the last day of July is tomorrow. I'm kind of sad that August is approaching because that means school is starting for the boys.
The first part of July was kind of hard. Mema was really sick and in the hospital over July 4th weekend. But, praise the Lord she is doing ok now and in a rehab hospital. We were able to be with family that weekend, some of whom we haven't seen in 10+ years! We also got to see some of our dear friends from Lancaster, whom we haven't seen in awhile. Here are all our boys together:

The first part of July 4th weekend was really fun, though, because my childhood best friend was in town and several of us all got together with our children. It was a lot of fun! Here are 2 pics from our day at the lake:

The middle 2 weeks of July were the best!! My brother, sister in law and 2 beautiful neices were here! This was the first time we were able to meet sweet Caroline and I loved everyday of it. She is the best baby and I enjoyed snuggling with her quite often. The boys had the best time with Anna. They were 3 peas in a pod for the whole 2 weeks. It was a very special time and Tiffany and I really enjoyed watching them play, laugh, swim, etc. It was very sad to see them go on Tuesday this past week. Tyler cried once we got in the car to leave and it broke my heart! Scott told me "Mama, I want God to move Anna to our neighbhorhood." What sweet boys who adore their time with their cousins! While at the beach, Scott learned to swim!!!!!!!! It was an amazing milestone for him and we are so proud of him. He is now even going off the diving board at the pool!!

We are having a great summer and sad to see it end soon. Tyler will start 2nd grade on Aug 18 and he is looking forward to it (I think). He has gained a lot more confidence with swimming this summer and has been a huge help to Robbie and me with Greyson (and Scott sometimes, too). He was a proud big brother when Scott learned to swim! He has such a sweet, genuine heart. Scott will start preschool in late August. He's our little red head and at such a fun age of 4...I just can't think about him turning 5 in 2 short months. He says the cutest things that I wish I could remember forever. He can be funny one minute and Mr. Serious another. Greyson is so full of life and energy right now. He cracks us up and makes life fun. He is already a chatter box and a friend to everyone he meets. He is our little chubba bubba! Life is full of so many blessings and we are very grateful!

June has been a fun filled month for us! We haven't had a whole lot of down time but enjoying every bit of this summer as much as we can! Once Robbie and I returned from our trip it was non stop....I'm glad we got our getaway in when we did! We've had VBS, Robbie has continued to have at least 3 Blowfish games a week, Scott has been playing t-ball, Tyler is playing golf, and Greyson just goes with the flow keeping us all on our toes! :) Here are some pictures from the last couple of weeks:

Greyson loves balls so much! He plays with them all the time and it is rare to not see a ball in his hands. He loves to say the word "ball" over and over and over. It is so cute! The other night he would not let go of the ball and "bat" (really a bowling pin but he uses it sometimes like a bat and sometimes like a golf club) when it was time to go to bed. So, he fell asleep with them! It was so cute!

We are looking forward to a fun filled July, too!! Andy and his family are coming for 2 weeks and we couldn't be more excited! Tyler is doing a camp at church and we are going to the beach, too. The summer is already going by so fast but at least we are having fun!

Amelia Island: 10 Year Anniversary Trip

Robbie and I just got home today from a wonderful 10 year anniversary trip to Amelia Island. We've known for a year or more that we wanted to celebrate big for 10 years. But, several months ago, Robbie decided he wanted to plan our destination and I was all for the idea!! So, he (and lots of other people who found out our destination) kept it a secret until we were on our there on Monday. I had known all along that we were going about 4 hours away and it would be on a beach, and that was all I wanted to know! :) I loved the idea of having it be a surprise. So, I was so excited when I found out and it gave us a chance to talk about it on the way there. We had an amazing, relaxing time! It is a beautiful place that we definitely want to revisit in the future. The beach was gorgeous, the people were so friendly, downtown was a neat place to shop and eat, etc. It was the perfect getaway for sure. Here are some pictures from our trip:

Ok, DON'T look AT us, but look beyond us....NO ONE on the beach within a few 100 yards from us...how fabulous!! We felt like we had the beach to ourselves! :)

The Bed and Breakfast left us this little surprise in our room because they knew we were there celebrating 10 years! :) The next time we go back, we will stay here the whole time. They were so nice!

On Wednesday we took a little trip to Jacksonville since it was only about 30-45 min away. One of Robbie's goals in life is to visit (or see) as many stadiums as he can around the country. So, we knew we were going to try and locate where the Jacksonville Jaguars play while we were there. After a little walk and lunch along the river downtown, we drove to the stadium. Much to our surprise there was a minor league baseball stadium right next to the Jaguar stadium. Robbie was so pumped when he saw it, and I convinced him to try and talk one of the guys into letting him inside. It worked! :) He wore is Columbia Blowfish hat and told them he was part of the Coastal Plains league and could he look at the field. SO, we got in and I took some pictures of Robbie on the field! He was so cute out there...like a little kid!! The team that played there was the Jacksonville Suns. Robbie was so excited to get to do this and it made the trip that much better for him (just like relaxing on a beach for hours made it great for me :)) Here are some pictures:

This is the what made the trip so great for me :) (other than spending 4 straight days of relaxation and no schedule with Robbie!!!) I read a WHOLE book in 3 days...wow I have no idea when that's ever happened!!

I'm so thankful to our awesome God for 10 great years of marriage to Robbie!! We've had our ups and downs as all marriages do, but we have so much to be thankful for...mainly our 3 little boy blessings that we rushed home to see today! :) While on our trip, Robbie and I reflected on the last 10 years and we look forward to 10+ more!!

Baseball and Golf

Robbie received some exciting news this past week. He is now helping coach the Columbia Blowfish baseball team! He is very excited and thankful for this neat opportunity. He found out on Wednesday morning and was asked to come afterschool that afternoon to turn in his resume, etc. When he got there they had already assigned him a locker and had practice clothes and a uniform ready for him! My mom and I took the boys to the first game this past Thursday night. They had a blast! Dale Murphy was there for a Palmetto Health fundraiser so that was neat. Of course, Tyler and Scott had no idea who he was but we got a baseball and Scott's baseball hat signed by him. Here are some pictures from the night:

Scott enjoyed meeting the Blowfish baseball. Greyon walked right up to him later in the night but I didn't have the camera ready. He had no fear at all and the people around were amazed at how he just walked right up to him and wasn't scared.

This week has already been full of End of the Year programs for Tyler and Scott as well as a trip to the strawberry patch! Tyler had his choir program at church on Sunday night, we went and picked strawberries on Monday afternoon and Scott had a short, little program at his school Tuesday night. Last Friday night, Robbie's team had their baseball banquet and on Saturday Scott had his first t-ball game. Here are some pictures from our events:

Greyson's 1st Birthday and Mother's Day

We had a big weekend celebrating Greyson's birthday! On Friday (his actual birthday), Scott, Greyson and I hung out together. That night the 5 of us went to supper at Five Guys where Greyson chowed down on his first hamburger. He seriously ate more than Scott, my 4 year old!! Robbie said he is going to be our "Blindside"! :) Then we headed over to Tyler's school for the Mustang Fest. On Saturday, we had a big party for Greyson in my parent's backyard. It was a perfect morning and everyone had a blast! The theme was a monkey party and my awesome friend, Jennifer, made his cakes...she did an amazing job! You will see pictures below. I just posted a new song to the playlist on our blog. Many of you have probably heard this song on the radio. I absolutely love it! I sing it and pray it for my boys every time I hear it. As they grow up, I want them to "Be strong in the Lord, never give up hope, you're gonna do great things, I already know, God's got his hands on you, etc." I desire more than anything for them to follow Christ all the days of their life! As they get older, my control over their daily decisions will become less and less and I can only hope and pray that they will make the decision daily to follow Christ! Just thought I'd share those thought with you all! :)

Tyler is 7!

Our sweet Tyler turned 7 this past Wednesday. Wow, 7! Why does he keep growing up and why does each year seem to pass so quickly? It feels like we were just in Disney World celebrating his 6th birthday! We started off the day with our tradion of a pancake breakfast. He opened a remote control car from the 4 of us and was able to play with it a little before school. Mimi, Greyson and I joined him at school for lunch (at 10:30 I might add...so early!). We took him a Chick-fil-a kids meal and I made cupcakes for his class. After school, we went and got ice cream and then had some play time at Monkey Joes. Robbie cancelled his baseball practice that day so that he could get home early and we could spend some time together. Tyler chose Olive Garden and his supper choice. After supper we went to Mimi and Pop's house because Mimi made Tyler a requested strawberry cake and they had presents for him to open. It was a great for him as he turned 7!

On Friday night we had Tyler's birthday party at Robbie's baseball game. It was all boys and they had a blast! They ran around like crazy and loved the atmosphere. The boys ran the bases and were paired with one of Robbie's players to run out to their position and sing the National Anthem. Scott and another child were a little hesitant and just watched but all of the other boys loved every minute of "being a big kid". We enjoyed hot dogs and cake during the game and then the boys broke a pinata. It was a great birthday party! We missed 5 boys who couldn't be there but had a great time with those that were able to come.

A little bit about Tyler: He is in first grade and doing great! His passions right now are drawing and riding his bike. He is taking art lessons afterschool in a group with one of the school art teachers. So far he has created an amazing drawing of a baseball player. He really is gifted in the area of drawing and amazes me at his talent at such a young age. He is a great big brother to 2 little brothers. Yes, he gets annoyed with them as only brothers can do, but he really does love to help them and teach them. Tyler currently isn't playing any sports but will play coaches pitch through SOAR in May and June. He is still a little shy but has really come out of his shell more and more. He's making some good friends in his class and I'm so glad to see that. Tyler is a great little boy and we are very proud of him.

Last Friday night the boys and I met Robin for supper and then went to part of Robbie's baseball game. I was able to take some sweet pictures of the boys...some with Robbie in the picture and some with him in the background. Greyson loved hanging out at the fence in view of Robbie and the baseball field! Tyler and Scott love hanging out in the dugout where they can be near Robbie and be apart of what goes on.
